Goose Creek Salt Works and Pioneer Village is located on 269 Railroad Avenue. The Salt Works is home to several historic cabins and barns with the oldest one being the Jesse Cotton cabin. The Clay County Historical Society relocated and maintains the structures for all to enjoy.
Located on the property are historical information boards with the history of the cabins and the salt works which were on the property during the mid 1800’s. Also, a large outdoor stage is on the property and is used for a variety of community events.
The Riverside Trail originates at the Pioneer Village and follows Goose Creek to Rawlings and Stinson Park. It is widely used by pedestrians who enjoy a safe outdoor walk.
